Oyster Albino

The Oyster Albino is an iconic Rolex watch, first introduced over 50 years ago. Its design, construction, and attention to detail set it apart from other Rolex models. In addition to that, the Oyster Albino is extremely limited in production. Only three examples were produced. Fortunately, the company’s Artisans De Geneve managed to create a watch that pays homage to the original.

Although the fake Rolex watch may look like an authentic Oyster Albino, the fake version of the watch’s dial is easily recognizable. The dial is not smooth or original. The hands are also not the same. The fake dials have an incorrectly-spaced 10 minute marker.

The Albino is a highly collectible watch. Only four examples have this unique dial design, making it very rare. The watch has sold twice for amazing sums of money in public auctions. The first sale was for $505,000 in 2003, and the second for $1.4 million in May 2015.

The Oyster Albino is considered one of the most desirable vintage Rolex watches. The name refers to its unusual subsidiary dials. They have the same color as the main dial plate, and they’re powered by the manual Caliber 727. Its case is made of stainless steel. The Oyster Albino is known for its rarity, so it’s wise to buy one when you can afford it.

The rarest Oyster Albino Rolex models can fetch up to $5 million. Some of the most beautiful pieces are now on display at auctions. Some people will even pay up to $4 million for a rare Daytona 6263 Oyster Albino.

Despite the high price, the Oyster Albino is a popular classic that combines classic design with an ultra-modern design. This watch has been around for over 50 years. Initially, it was a popular choice for celebrities. Later, the brand released the GMT-Master and Explorer models.

A renowned collector of Rolex watches, John Goldberger, bought one of these watches in May 2017. The watch is currently listed at 3.7 million Swiss francs.

Oyster Sotto Cosmograph

A Rolex Oyster Sotto is a screw down pusher Daytona with a black 3-colour Paul Newman dial. The “Sotto” designation is not between the “Rolex” and the “Cosmograph”. It is underneath the “Cosmograph”. The name “Sotto” comes from the Italian “sotto”, meaning “under.” This watch was only released after the “Cosmograph” was added.

An Oyster Sotto Cosmograph is a cornerstone for any serious watch collection. A single-owner example is extremely rare. It’s a classic and is highly collectible. It’s not easy to find one at auction, but you can try your luck at Bonhams on 20 June at New Bond Street.

One very rare Rolex Oyster Sotto is the Paul Newman Ref. 6263, which was made with a black dial. There are only 25 examples of this watch with black dials. They can fetch up to $1 million. Among collectors, this watch is considered the ultimate goal of Daytonas.

The Christie’s watch has a serial number of 2.197 million. Christie’s no longer discloses full case numbers. However, Oyster “Sotto” pieces are found in both batches. The “Sotto” Mk1 variant has a serial number of 2.085 million, while the “Sotto” Mk2 version has a serial number of 2.197 million.

Paul Newman Daytona

In the early 1970s, Paul Newman first started wearing a Rolex Daytona with an exotic dial. This style of wristwatch was designed specifically for motorsports. It was his iconic photo in this watch that prompted Italian auction houses to nickname it the “Paul Newman Daytona.”

A few years later, the late actor’s wife Joanne Woodward purchased a Paul Newman Daytona for her husband. Newman wore it in an Italian magazine, earning him the name “Paul Newman Daytona.” While the original version did not feature a Paul Newman dial, it was eventually adopted as a signature style for the Daytona.

A letter written by Newman’s daughter Nell accompanied the present lot. In the summer of 1984, Nell’s boyfriend James Cox was helping Newman build a treehouse.

Nell had forgotten to wind his wristwatch when she met him. When Nell asked him if he knew the time, he did not, so she gave him the watch. He cherished it and took care of it to keep it in pristine condition.

The Paul Newman Daytona is one of the most expensive and collectible vintage watches. The rare vintage versions are decorated with multicolored exotic dials and Art-Deco style numerals. These timepieces have very low production numbers and are incredibly rare. As a result, their price is often very high.

The Paul Newman Daytona is one of the most famous watches in the world. In 2017, it sold for nearly $18 million, including the buyer’s premium. However, many fakes or modified versions of the iconic watch are available on the market. If you are thinking about purchasing this piece of Hollywood history, don’t be fooled.

Unicorn

A Unicorn Rolex watch, one of the most coveted Cosmograph Daytonas in the world, will be auctioned for the first time on May 12 at Phillips, a Geneva auction house that supports charities aimed at children and suicide prevention. It is likely to fetch a huge price.

According to Wikipedia, Unicorn was first registered as a brand name on 17 March 1919. It was originally held by Wilsdorf & Davis, but was transferred to Hans Wilsdorf on 4 October 1920.

The reason for this change is unclear. However, it may be related to Wilsdorf’s decision to drop the “Davis” from their company name. Hans Wilsdorf then registered the Unicorn Watch on 20 November 1923.

The Unicorn is a mythical creature from the fables. While some Unicorn watches are based on real unicorns, others are based on fictional creatures.

The fanciful creatures are renowned for their boldness, innovation, and rambunctious nature. This mythical creature is also considered to be a great symbol of love and beauty. Unicorn watches have a following and are sold at prices well above their original price.

While many of today’s famous Rolex watches are sold with similar features, the Unicorn watches sold the most. In the past, Unicorn watches were marketed as an inexpensive alternative to the branded watches.

While they were inferior to Rolex watches, Unicorn watches were sold by Wilsdorf’s company to differentiate them from each other. Eventually, Wilsdorf’s brand grew to include other names. The brand was later rebranded as Oyster Watch Co.

In addition to the original Unicorn and Marconi Rolex watches, these watches were sold under different brand names. Initially, they were marketed as cheaper brands that used non-Aegler movements. However, the Unicorn and Marconi watches would not have the name “Rolex” on their dials.

This watch is adorned with a black sigma dial with white gold indexes and a white gold bracelet. The watch’s case contains several service marks between 1971 and 2010, indicating that the watch was serviced several times by the manufacturer. The watch is now being sold for charity.
